Apartment removalists for Hornsby and Waitara
Two out of three Hornsby addresses are units, and next door in Waitara it is closer to nine in ten. Unit moves are most of what this suburb asks of a removalist, so we run them as their own trade, not as a small house move.
What an apartment move takes that a house move does not
The load is smaller; the choreography is bigger. In the buildings along Alexandria Parade, Balmoral Street and around the Hornsby town centre, the move runs through shared space: a lift other residents are using, a lobby with rules about trolleys, a loading bay with a time limit. Getting those right is the difference between a two-hour move and a four-hour one, at any rate.
- The lift booking. If your building takes bookings, book it, and tell us the window. We arrive inside it, pads up, and feed the lift continuously so the booked hour is never idle.
- The loading bay or kerb. We work out where the truck stands before the day. Some buildings have a bay; some have a driveway that doubles as one; some need the kerb and a spotter.
- Protection. Door jambs, lift pads if the building does not fit its own, and corner guards where the trolley turns. Bond inspections read walls; so do we, before and after.
- The order of the load. Units reward loading discipline: boxes staged in the hallway, furniture wrapped in the room, one continuous run rather than trips that block the lift twice.
The crew and the rate
Unit moves run 2 movers + 1 truck at $250 an hour, off the published card. That is deliberate: in a lift building the lift sets the pace, and a third mover mostly stands in a lobby you are paying for. Where a unit move genuinely earns a bigger crew, like a stairs-only walk-up at both ends, we say so when we call back, with the reason attached.
End-of-lease timing
A lot of Waitara and Hornsby unit moves run against a lease clock: keys back by a date, a bond clean booked behind the move. Tell us those dates on the form and we plan backwards from them, including finishing early enough for the cleaners to get in.
